How much?
The first thing some people will want to know is, if there is a fee and how much, in getting a Philippine Postal ID. Yes, there is. By my experience, it is
- 500 PhP (Philippine Peso) for regular, and
- 600 PhP for rush.
It is actualy 336 PhP, they issued me a receipt for that amount but asked me for the amount stated above, When I asked what is it for, the lady pointed to a piece of bond paper telling its for the notary public and lamination. As I read the other blogs, I've learned that the fee increase at least every year. It doesn't look like this is legal and official since they don't write the exact amount on the receipt. From the 175 pesos but asking for 300 pesos, now its 300 and they asked for 500.
What are the requirements?
- Application form (2 copies). You may fill out the forms, except for some parts that should be filled out by the officer.
- Original Copy of NSO Birth Certificate, OR Original Copy of Birth Certificate authenticated by the Local Civil Registrar or LCR.
- Valid NBI Clearance, OR Barangay Certificate
- 3 pcs colored photo (1 1/2" x 2") or (width by height).
These were the only requirements they asked. They didn't required me to submit a CEDULA although when I called their telephone number before going to the POST OFFICE in Lawton, a guy said that it is required. And it was stated in the downloadable requirement PDF.
Notes: Be sure to be familiar with the streets on your residential area. The Philippine Postal ID is valid for 3 years.
You can download the requirements' PDF and application form for POSTAL ID here:

To get a CEDULA, you may visit your Barangay Hall or City Hall. The fee for class A is 5 pesos.
- If you will get it from Manila City Hall, it is in the south part of the City Hall. Fill a small form first that may be found on the table or may given by a random person, lol, by probably a personnel there.
